I absolutely loved this Canberra Glassworks Engagement Session with Sam and Jordan! If you haven’t visited it yet, located adjacent to Kingston Foreshore, the Canberra Glassworks is home to markets, Broadburger (yum!) and a gorgeous and historic urban landscape, with perfect creamy pastel colours and rustic factory vibes.

If you’re a long-term fan (and if not, welcome!), you’ll notice that I rarely capture many sessions in an urban landscape. It’s not that I don’t like urban landscapes, but it is a special request usually! Canberra has a whole host of gorgeous architectural backdrops, including the National Portrait Gallery, Kingston Foreshore, and the cosy sleep-easiness of somewhere like Curtin and it’s amazing barber shop.

Over coffee Jordan and Sam felt that the urban style backdrop would be more appropriate for them, and so I suggested the Canberra Glassworks, for it’s huge glass stack, gorgeous urban landscape and fresh colours! In terms of clothing and style, I felt that suggesting very neutral colours would be the way to go, and bringing along some stunning flowers from the amazing Moxom and Whitney, this added that pop of colour into the mix!

I believe having that small pop of colour can really accent images perfectly, especially when you have a very neutral landscape. Working this out is all part of the pre-session consultation I offer, where I love to invite you into the studio in Casey to get a good understanding of what you really love, and what styles you are drawn to!

I loved taking Sam and Jordan on this small adventure, and getting to know them! I hope you enjoy these select images from their session!
