Now Emily Egan should be a familiar face to many of you who’ve been following my work in the last few years. Emily is one of those souls who has such a great heart and attitude about everything, and every time we work together it is fireworks!

So how chuffed do you think I was when Emily wanted to do a couples portrait session with her awesome partner Tijs! I was over the ruddy moon.

As I write this in the cold depths of the Canberra winter in July, it’s amazing to get a sense of how warm it was on the day at the gorgeous National Portrait Gallery in Canberra. Canberra is home to many educational and artistic jewels like this, and this may be one of my favourite places for a cosy Sunday trip out.

As you’ll know if you’ve been following me, I capture mainly in the outdoors; I’d say 95% of my sessions are outside with the sun or rain blaring down on us whilst bark and dirt get trodden into our shoes. However, there are moments like this where nature seems to wrap beautifully around even the greyest concrete buildings. I love that the National Portrait Gallery has so much love and care around it, and the gardens adjacent to them are filled with mist machines and a stunning array of fauna and flora!

This whole session was filled with running, piggybacks, and an awesome celebration of Emily and Tijs, and the end of summer…as if anyone ever celebrates that though!

We hope you enjoy this stunning sunset set!
