So engagement sessions in the forest are pretty much one of my favourite things ever. There’s nothing like taking a couple of adventurous souls out to explore the unknown in the freezing cold of Canberra winter. So here we have an awesome Namadgi Engagement Portrait Session, which I totally love to bits.

When Amy and Mitch said that they wanted to have somewhere fun and exciting to celebrate their engagement, I knew exactly the new spot I’d been dying to capture them in. Now I’m going to be a bit naughty here and not reveal exactly where this is, as I’m currently writing something amazing for Canberra locals; a guide to some amazing places you’d never even think about having a family and couples portrait.

Back to the session! I love to work with a limited number of people every year because I just love pouring so much time and energy into serving people who completely (like, completely) rock. Amy and Mitch are exactly these kinds of people and I love them for it. Right from meeting these two you can just feel how happy they are as a couple and how comfortable in their own skin they are. These two also have absolutely killer smiles, and so the whole session was basically an awesome trek up a mountain, complete with hollowed out trees, piggyback rides, and listening to how Amy and Mitch crossing paths together.

My favourite part of this whole session was when it got a little bit too hot and Mitch took his hoody off, only to leave it right by a log which we had trouble finding again later. The one downside of nature is that so many logs can kind of look a little similar and so we ended up running up and down the mountain looking for it, before Amy finally yellow “Don’t worry, I’ve found it!” when it was right at the bottom the whole time.

Forget the gym, I got an awesome work out that day.

I hope you enjoy this absolute stunner of a set of images!
